I don't think so. Eventhough they make U in september bulletin. They have to move dates in October bulletin because of new visa numbers.
Yes there will be dates in Oct. but will that be 2006 Jan.? That is what karanp25 means.

I agree 100% too. Just feel so helpless.
After reading all your comments, I reached to a conclusion

Mass porting to EB2 category is the only option. I think most people with old EB3 PD can easily do it. I was reluctant initially but since there is no light at the end of the tunnel, why not take a chance while PD porting is still available. Dont get discouraged by people advising against it, since there is no hope for EB3 anyways.

I go to India atleast once every year and I agree that the urban infrastructure has changed a lot. But, such a change has created overcrowding in major cities which has lead to heavy pollution, rocketing inflation, high cost of living, and what not. You can get anything you want - best education, best food, best best best .... if you can afford.
During one of the trips couple of years back I did a casual interview at a huge software giant in Chennai just to guage how well I will fit. This was for a programming job in C++. Interview was rookie, intrerviewer was surprised why I want to come back because people actually seek such companies as route to US or UK and also made me feel that I may not be satisfied with the job if he has to offer.
So here is the thing. If you want to go back and lead a good life - I think it is a good idea provided you have very good education and experience and you get into the league of executives or you want to set up some booming business.
If you want to go back and work at a managerial level - you may not find things that interesting because of the affordibnility factor.
It is totally upto you to decide. If you look at urban infrastructure, India is developing, but in my opinion, the only way India can develop as a nation is by bringing about a change from the grassroots - change in beliefs, politics, innovations, products , hygene, uniform standards of living etc....

There's no law that employer should borne the cost of GC. I have spent almost 10K in my GC process until last year and 2K this year for EADs and APs. I spend about 3 K in one more GC process I started several years back which I abandoned because I changed the emloyer. I Spent 1000s of dollars in Visa stamping, H4 renewals. And yes I'm stuck for almost a decade. There are atleast 10 people I know who are in similar situations, so I'm guessing there'll be thousands in USA. These are facts it may not apply to you but does apply to lot of people here...

I am with you Almond. After waiting for 12 long years in USA and 8 long years for a GC, the tunnel is still dark.

My DL expring in Sept. filed for 10th year extenison, I live in NY.
NY DL have 2 dates, One in Top with RED Bold letters its called Temp Visa Date and at botton DL exprie date. I have contacted in DMV office. They said I can drive using bottom Exprie date which is exprie in 2010(mine) ,But I cant use the DL as ID if Temp VISA expire on DL.Unless I renew it with approved H1B visa date.So I have to Carry Passport ,recepit copy and Employer lettter with all time just as proof if cop caught me.

Rather I would like to add more items to what u have listed-
1. Its wrong for EB2 filers to find/marry a us citizen. That will be unethical of them to do as they will be jumping lines. Because u would be unable to do if u would have married non-citizen..so based on GCTest's logic please dont marry us citizen or if u have marriued continue to only use you EB2 application for processing :-)
2. Also people who are now planning of using EB5 (assuming u have now saved/gather enough money). So EB2, EB3 or other people u have been saving money and are now thinking of risking ur money/career/life on EB5 filing..please dont do that...because that will be unethical.....u r doing it bcos u now have money. Per GCTest's logic u did not having money u filed ur EB2 or EB3 application so if u have money now...dont try to use it.
GCTest...can u think of other conditions ...do post them.
Oh yes corollary to #1. Also bachelors in EB2/EB3 category make sure u dont fall inlove and plan to marry any girl/boy from the countries which are current. Help GCTest's cause.

The prices in Hyderabad are pretty high right now. But I do not think any bubble will burst and they will come down. If anything they will maintain their current value. This is what I noticed during a recent trip to Hyderabad:
1. The people who are buying at USD$200K or USD$300K are already rich. I think they are just using this as a conduit to convert their black money into white.
2. People who are buying are not looking for a quick turn around. They are in it for the long haul.
3. The outer ring road construction is going on in full swing. It is a pretty wide road. Once done, travelling from one corner to the other would not take hours as it is taking now.
4. The metro rail project recently got awarded to Maytas consortium. They expect to have it working by 2012 and will help travel from the outlying areas.
5. The development of the city is not being limited to just one corner. Different industries (and SEZs) are being planned in different corners to help growth across the city.
What once used to be city outskirts with scant houses spread around are bustling with construction activity. And city is expanding tremendously. I can give one example that people who are familiar with Hyd can picture in their mind:
The road that goes from Lunger Haus to Gandipet via the military area.
As it was in 1996: Once you crossed Lunger Haus, there were very few civilian houses. There was a small village near the Vasavi Engg College. And then a small village (Narsingi). And then the Gandipet village. There was nothing but open land elsewhere thru the route.
As it was in August 2008: The military area remains the same. But there are developed houses all the way from Lunger Haus to Gandipet and beyond. And there are still quite a few projects going on to build educational institutions, residential bungalows/condos etc.
The outer ring road happens to go thru the Narsingi village. And this made the property values in that area to sky rocket.
Considering all these, if you can afford it, get a piece of action now. But do not expect the value to double in just a couple of years. It will be atleast 4 or 5 years before you can expect your property value to go up significantly.
if you take gapala's reasoning and your observation, it means there are more rich men in India(or cities in India) than here in USA. It is hard to believe that. Be patient, the prices will come down.

Does it mean the eligibility criteria/job requirement for EB2 is changed from 5 to 10 years?
I don't know but I'm scared now....My attorney is filing 140 this week and I was planning on premium processing.

Unfortunately, we will never know the daily or weekly details. If you see three bills introduced in a year like you saw last year, then it is the result of lobbying effort. IV core has periodic meetings with lobbying firm and all your money goes into that. Plus several trips to DC by IV leadership, to represent YOU and ME.

keeping that in mind, it doesn't matter, if u r EB2 or EB3 or if u r porting the date..because in either way..one will get GC (luck is still a factor) based on number of years in US or years since GC process started.
given a chance and if permissible under the law, most of us would want to switch to EB1..or even change the birthplace..to avoid this mess..but then it is too difficult to switch to EB1 compared to switching from EB3 to EB2. one would always take the least resistive path and it is right as long as it is not illegal under the current law..(oh..no..don't talk about morality..because when personal interests are at stake..nothing matters..for most of us)
anyway..they have successfully created enough divisions among ourselves EB1,2,3...row...the bright side of eb3 to eb3 porting is..that everyone will become eb2 and then we will stand united..hopefully..but then we will have divisions..eb2 before this year..eb2 originally filed..eb2 with masters from us..eb2 with 5 yrs of experience..eb2 with two masters...eb2 with fair screen..eb2 with black skin..
we have been always like that..divided and self centric and we will remain so and that's why u can see those blood sucking idiots can kill as at their will because we are not indians..but..from up, bihar, gujarat..from castes..region.language..list is endless but then we have never learnt anything from history..that's why ruled by minorities for most of the years in last 2000yrs history..

Sorry about the pain. if you haven't noticed, I think aftr your previous employer revoked the I-140, they went ahead and updated that to 'denied' status and apparently the date did not change. so the same day that your 140 was approved now shows as denied. Bring that to their notice and they may see their mistake.
